The Project of a jewel with Incastro

The design of a jewel, with its exhibitor, created with the game of construction Incastro. The object, realized in groups composed of two students, took place in collaboration with the company Incastro (www.incastroworld.com) which provided each group with a kit of pieces of the construction system in plastic material with the same name. The design of a jewel (a bracelet or necklace) was required, which, using the proposed construction system, explored the possibilities and the compositional potential of the modular repetition of a single element. It was allowed to work on the pieces with decorations, colors or coatings and it was also possible to glue the pieces to give greater stability especially when they were connected at an angle. The decoration should not make the underlying interlocking structure unrecognizable. Pieces were not allowed to be drilled or cut.
